DRGW 5384 PATCHED - SEVEN LEFT Posted Tuesday, May 14 2002 at 0724 h MDT DRGW 5384 was patched sometime in the last 24 hours, and is now UP 8637. That leaves seven remaining operating, fully Rio Grande tunnel motors: 5349, 5354, 5356, 5371, 5377, 5390, and 5401. Thanks to Jim H. for noticing this early this morning. - NDHolmes
MORE MOVEMENT ON TENN PASS MAIN Posted Monday, May 13 2002 at 1037 h MDT This morning, Bruce C. reported hearing, "Extended discussion, of which I heard only one end as usual, about reconnecting the rail at 334.5 so they can get another string of empties off the Minturn main (as they call it still), and replacing it with a portable derail so they can get in and out of there a little more easily." Probably sometime today or tomorrow, UP will send up a pair of units (possibly already there, possibly dropped off by tonight's local) to fetch this string. It sounds like they're expecting more movement in the coming weeks/months, though, since they're replacing the turned-over rail with a real derail. - NDHolmes
AND THEN THERE WERE EIGHT - DRGW 5365 PATCHED Posted Saturday, May 11 2002 at 1004 h MDT DRGW 5365 was patched to UP 8622 on 7-May-2002 at Jenks down in North Little Rock, AR. That leaves eight semi-original operating T-2s - 5349, 5354, 5356, 5371, 5377, 5384, 5390, and 5401. Thanks to Jim Harrawood for pointing this one out. For that matter, sorry for the delay on the news - I've been gone for the past two weeks working hard in Florida. - NDHolmes
