Mammoth Branch Facts Mammoth Branch HistoryThe Mammoth Branch may or may not have been an "official" branch (I've never found it mentioned in a timetable, but then again I don't have many timetables before 1943), but the line was certainly a notable spur off the Tintic Branch. The branch was built from Mammoth Junction one mile south to the Mammoth Mills. The line eventually became a joint operation, hosting trains from both the Oregon Short Line / Union Pacific and Rio Grande. With the closing of the mills, the line was pulled up in 1943. |
