After retirement, D&RGW 5371 was moved to Cheyenne, WY, and placed in the care of the Union Pacific Steam group. While the unit will be preserved, Union Pacific hasn't yet decided what museum will get the motor, or if they'll keep it themselves.



Apparently the guys in Cheyenne weren't expecting it, and upon its arrival, decided to make it an honorary part of the steam program. Thus, using some sort of decals they had lying around, it was "patched" to UP Steam 8944 on one side. Don't worry, the decals are easily removed...
