D&RGW GP9s 5952 and 5944 moving a train of empty GS gons across US Highway 50 and up the hill towards Monarch. Taken 17 Jun 1970 by an unknown photographer.
D&RGW K-36 #480 leads a load of lime flux rock down the Monarch Branch at Maysville sometime in the 1950s. The line would soon be standard gauged, and 480 would be moved to the San Juan Extension.
D&RGW 489 works downhill towards the lower Maysville horseshoe curve with a load of rock from Monarch sometime around 1949. Photographer and exact date unknown.
