A westbound train is negotiating the curves at Mitchell. 3077, 3023, 3003, 5319 have the train in full dynamics as they come off the hill on September 17, 1975.
Coal loads are leaving the Yampa Valley in the care of 5346, 5360, 5355, 5371. The train is just north of Toponas, CO passing Finger Rock on September 17, 1975.
East of Crater, CO on October 15, 1975, we find 5347, 5358, 5353, 5357 & 5361 leading an east bound coal train. These units were fairly new at this time.
At Mitchell, CO we find 5348, 5327, 5399, 5335 & 3071 working hard as they struggle upgrade with 85 cars. Further back in the train are the helpers working just as hard on August 16, 1984.
On September 17, 1984, we find brand new 5501 & 5502 working west through Kremmling, CO The units were on one of their first, if not the first, trips west to Phippsburg.
Train 153 roars through Glenwood Springs, CO on April 20, 1989. The power this day was 5407, 3055 and SP 9313. The SP was finally taking its hold on the D&RGW.
