The Willow Creek Mine was located on the Soldier Summit route near Castle Gate, UT?. It was served by both the D&RGW and the Utah Railway (and obviously later by the Southern Pacific? and Union Pacific?, as successors to the Rio Grande). The mine loaded out its last train on 27 Sep 2000, closed because of an accident that killed two miners on 31 Jul 2000. 1 1 CTC Board Railroads Illustrated, January 2001, page 15 ⇑ |
