Work in progress Another interesting note is that the 315 was dead during the whole shoot. Fake smoke was made in the smokebox and the locomotive was pushed by one of the US Army diesels that were being tested on the Grande. (I believe it was 4700N)The diesel was disguised in a wooden baggage car shell, and it was covered up all the way above the trucks. There are some great scenes of the train and the "Rockwood Tunnel" on the DVD "'50s Memories of the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge" from Green Frog. Filming Locations
