The heavy manifest is coming upgrade (east) through Pando during July of 1976 where the mainline rejoins US 24 for the climb to the top. Leading is DRGW 3125, 3088, 3013, 5316, 5318.

Here come the swing helpers for the manifest in 25. These six GP40/GP40-2s were added at Minturn for the 3% climb up through Belden Canyon.

Almost at the summit, the manifest we've seen in the previous views is about to enter the sweeping curve at Mitchell, just west of the tunnel at Tennessee Pass.

After assisting an eastbound up Tennessee Pass, a seven unit helper set led by GP30 3017 drops downgrade at the former site of Rex, just east of Minturn on September 29, 1979.

A few hours after the previous view, X3124E, the first section of #756, slowly ascends the 3% grade between Redcliff and Pando. The second section is approaching Wolcott and will be similarly assisted later in the day.
