With Denver and the Eastern Plains in the distance, three SD45's hoist a mixed merchandise train upgrade just past Blue Mountain Road near Clay, CO in July, 1976

A bit farther along, SD45's 5338, 5323 and 5334 make a fine sight as they move their train unassisted up the 2% grade.

The big 20 cylinder units are in run 8 and drown out all other sounds as they pass. Rocky Flats is in the distance.
