This is a brochure extolling the reasons to travel via the narrow gauge - specifically the San Juan and the Silverton trains.
This brochure was one of approximately 10000 printed in each year between 1947 and 1949. (From Herb Danneman's book, "A Ticket to Ride the Narrow Gauge", page 192. It says a brochure that advertised the San Juan and the Silverton ran 10000 copies or so in each of 1947, 48 and 49.) The identity of this brochure was identified from Bob Richardson's Narrow Gauge News (Colorado Rail Annual #21), page 35. It pictures the same brochure on page 36. It doesn't specifically say that the thing mentioned on page 35 is that pictured on page 36, but I think they have to be. Richardson also says that only printing 10000 showed that the Rio Grande weren't really serious about promoting the NG passenger business.
A big thanks to Mick Moignard for writing in with these references to better date and indentify this piece.
