Given the small amount of orange paint that is needed, I didn't even
attempt to get a precise match. Rather, I airbrushed the orange parts with
PolyScale D&RGW Orange and then weathered the heck out of it. While the
PolyScale paint isn't even close, the weathering makes it look
appropriately faded. I am getting ready to do a couple of SD7s and I plan
to experiment with various shades of orange on them.

In the recent article about the Rio Grande GP30s in Diesel Era, the author
states that only 4 of the units received the large Rio Grande on the sides.
Three of the units were 3001, 3002 and 3014. Which was the fourth unit?
Also, when did the Rio Grande start painting the hand rails next to the
steps white?
