I remember seeing one of these models win the locomotive performance competition at a NMRA National convention
back in the 1980s. I guess it depends on your definition of a 'good runner' I had entered a logging mallet in the
competition that pulled 15 NMRA freight cars up a 6% grade; but added weight, lights and paint detract from it's overall
score and I didn't place. The M-68 on the other hand couldn't pull itself up a 3% grade, but passenger engines only had
to climb a 2% grade in the competition.

They are a pretty model, look great painted and are better than other early Korean Key Rio Grande models. I would
recommend a new gearbox, motor and flywheel, and weight for an 'operator'; they are pretty slippery out of the box.
Some other early Korean Key Rio Grande models have very lightweight mechanisms that are trouble prone, soft side
rods, out of round holes, off center crankpins, etc... All things that were not problems with the older Japanese models.

Because there were some older Japanese Rio Grande models that have stood the test of time, the Korean Key models
are less desirable for the operator as there are alternatives

When you think outside the box,
You are out of the loop.

Are these good runners? They show up on eBay pretty often.
