Denver & Rio Grande - It is reported that this companys
engineers are surveying a line between Durgano, Colo., and
Farmington, N. Mex.

February 17, p55

An officer writes that the building of a standard-gage branch
from Durgano, Colo., south to Farmington, N. Mex., about 52
miles has been authorized by the directors. Construction work
on this extension was commenced on February 2d., and will be
rapidly pushed to completion . . . estimates total cost of
construction will ap;lorixiamate $1,000,000 and he expects that
the line will be finished by next September . . .

Denver & Rio Grande
Track laying on the first 18 miles out of Durango, on the
Durango - Farmington extension of this road was begun on
June 15 a Robert track-layer being used. This section
includes the heaviest grade on the extension
